ABSTRACT

Discoverjustin was created with the aim of bringing together the most important information about Justin Bieber in one website. In fact, Discoverjustin, in addition to retracing the artist's musical career,  can be used as an access point to all his main social channels, to the official Drewhouse shop and to purchase tickets for his concerts. 

Also through Discoverjustin, it will be possible to listen to and buy Justin's albums and it will also be possible, with our help, to understand which album to start with if you are approaching listening to this artist for the first time.

Discoverjustin, therefore, is a site dedicated to fans, but also to those who would like to join the community but don't know where to start.

GOALS

At the age of 29, Justin Bieber now boasts a very high number of musical successes, obtained through the publication of EPs and albums, but also through musical collaborations with numerous artists.

Having come to prominence at a very young age, very often Justin is not taken seriously by listeners who cannot detach themselves from the memory of the child who played the guitar in his living room or sang on the most prestigious stages with a haircut very cool time, but questionable today. The goal of Discoverjusin is precisely to make the most skeptical think again, retracing with us all the artist's musical achievements and listening to the playlists that we will recommend through our dedicated quiz. 

TARGET USER

Discoverjustin is aimed primarily at users of Generation Y and Z, particularly those in the 30-16 age group. 

Most of Justin's listeners have grown up with his songs (loving them or hating them) so they are around the artist's age, but there are also decidedly younger listeners who haven't struggled to fall in love with his music.

However, Discoverjustin is open to anyone who loves music and wants to discover this incredible artist.

COMPETITORS

  • Wikipedia: only presents information about Justin's life and career but does not create engagement with the artist  through his music.

  • Justin Bieber Official Site: there are links to social channels and online shops but it does not allow you to listen directly to the artist's albums. Furthermore, it is aimed only at fans, as it does not offer a directing system for the less experienced about the music to listen to. 

  • Spotify: all the songs of the artist are present but it does not contain information about his life.

LOOK AND FEEL

  • Fonts: we decided to use only two fonts to try to simplify the reading of the site as much as possible. The fonts in question are: Syne for titles and Questrial for subtitles and paragraphs.

  • Color palette: even as regards the choice of colors we have aimed at minimalism. There are three colors used: purple (#8F4DAB) for the background, yellow (#FFFE55) for buttons and links, and white (#FFFFFF) for the text. We selected purple for the background because it was the most used color ever during Justin's career. Yellow was chosen as a complementary color to purple. White, on the other hand, was chosen because it can be optimally combined with both purple and yellow.

  • Page Elements: The images chosen for Discoverjustin were sourced from Google and Pinterest's gallery and are licensed under Creative Commons. Furthermore, ours is a Fanwork so we make use of Fair Use. As for our page logo, it too was selected from Google images and is one of the Drew House logos.

COMMUNICATION STRATEGY

BACKGROUND

Discoverjustin is aimed mainly at a young audience, which is why we have chosen captivating and trendy fonts, images and colors. We have tried to make the site accessible and translatable into English as well. Furthermore, we have particularly taken care of the mobile version as, nowadays, the smartphone is certainly the most used device by young people.

COMMUNICATION OBJECTIVES

Discoverjustin aims to expand the Justin Bieber fandom by engaging a young audience.

The objectives set at the outset are:

  • At least 100 unique visitators to the website

  • At least 25 quizzes completed 

TARGET AUDIENCE AND MESSAGE

Discoverjustin's target audience is primarily users between the ages of 16 and 30.

PROMOTION

Since Discoverjustin's communication goal is to expand Justin Bieber's fandom by engaging a young audience, we will start by spreading our website on university whatsapp groups. By doing this, we will try to "fish" even among those detractors who have never really taken a moment to listen to the songs of this artist. We will then continue by sending the site to our friends and relatives, to also involve users of other ages, and publicizing it on our instagram pages.

RESULTS EVALUATION

To evaluate the results achieved we will use the integrated Wix tools such as "Statistics and Reports".
